With the last of the kids finally off to college, mom and dad seized the opportunity to combine two of Italy’s most romantic regions: the historic jewels of Florence with the flavors and vistas of the incredible – and often underrated – Piemonte region.
For 15 days, they wined, dined, and explored in the footsteps of Florentine nobility and became part of the famiglia across tiny rural towns at the foothills of the picturesque Italian Alps and the lakeside villages of Lake Maggiore.
